Rise10 Recruitment are currently supporting the recruitment of a Solutions Estimator to join a Solutions team based in Northamptonshire.
This role will support the development of opportunities by accurately calculating the total cost associated with automated materials handling solutions, while also producing technical proposal and plant list documentation to support project bids.
The Role
Reporting to the Solutions Estimating Manager, you will work closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers to develop cost-effective solutions and ensure project costs are accurately calculated.
The role carries costing responsibility for projects of up to £10 million independently and supports projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Solution Design Team with the development of opportunities.
- Prepare specifications of work packages to be issued to subcontractors.
- Support the Solution Team by working with suppliers to develop cost-effective designs.
- Liaise with suppliers to identify the most appropriate equipment for bids.
- Evaluate supplier offers and resolve any cost discrepancies.
- Ensure costs cover both external and internal scope of works.
- Present cost prices to the Project Team and Executive team for approval.
- Keep up to date with technical developments to ensure bids utilise current technology.
- Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences and project team activities.
- Maintain and update a library of information, including supplier price masters.
- Create technical proposal documents and plant list documentation to support project bids.
- Follow company Health & Safety procedures and responsibilities.
- Work in accordance with the applicable Risk Assessment, Safe System of Work or Workplace Risk Assessment.

- Focused on ensuring internal and external customers understand what to expect and when.
- Willing to travel to customer sites for meetings and operational evaluation.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Costing experience is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC and automation equipment.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Clean driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Typically travel within the UK or Europe is expected to be less than 10% of the time, although periods of work on client sites may be required.
