Role: CAD Design Engineer (Contractor role)
Start: Immediate Start for a 3 month assignment (could be extended)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced CAD Engineer to join their team on an ongoing, high-profile project. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a fast-moving, high-spec initiative, supporting both design and on-site installation teams with accurate technical documentation. Our client offers electrical engineering solutions from design, build and installation for Control panels, HV and LV electrical systems, Communication and Automation systems along with small power & lighting installations.
About the Role:
This role is integral to the success of the project, as you’ll be joining an existing design effort and helping to deliver precise 2D documentation derived from complex 3D models. Working closely with site teams, you’ll help ensure designs are both technically accurate and installation-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and refine detailed CAD models and technical drawings to produce accurate containment routing drawings
- Navigate and interpret 3D models to create clear, high-quality 2D design documentation
- Collaborate with on-site installation teams to incorporate feedback and integrate specified details
- Produce plan views and section views for construction and coordination purposes
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail, suitable for a high-spec, mission-critical project
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven professional experience as a CAD Engineer on complex electrical installations in the industrial process sector
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Strong ability to interpret 3D models and translate them into 2D technical drawings
- Experience in containment design and technical installation projects
- Confident communicator with experience working alongside on-site teams
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality
