Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join a specialist industrial automation and systems integration business based in Corby.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering PLC/HMI programming, control panel testing, FAT/SAT, commissioning and customer support. You will work on bespoke automation and control systems, taking projects through testing and commissioning to successful handover.

Key Responsibilities

• PLC, HMI and SCADA programming and modifications.
• Control panel testing, fault finding and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and on-site commissioning.
• Commission PLCs, HMIs, drives and associated equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting, breakdown support and system upgrades.
• Produce and maintain electrical, software and project documentation.
• Work closely with engineering teams and customers to resolve technical issues.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in control panel wiring, testing and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and control systems.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs and drives — Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar.
• Strong electrical and controls fault-finding skills.
• Good documentation and organisational skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Desirable: AutoCAD Electrical/EPLAN, FAT/SAT documentation, instrumentation and industrial networking experience.
