Role: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

Do you have experience in designing electrical systems using AutoCAD Electrical and programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems?

Rise10 are working with a well-established provider of system integration and automation support services who are seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. With a strong presence in the food, manufacturing, and energy generation sectors, our client is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and fostering professional growth within their team.

This role is perfect for a professional with expertise in AutoCAD Electrical, PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming, and a solid understanding of industrial networks such as Profibus or Profinet. The Role & Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to use AutoCAD Electrical
  • Panel layouts and BOMs
  • LV distribution and cable calculations
  • Electrical schematic diagrams
  • Instrument loop diagrams
  • PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules
  • Machinery safety circuit design and risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849/60261
  • Technical documents

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous PLC, HMI, and SCADA software writing experience (3 years)
  • Good understanding of industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, etc)
  • Any experience in safety systems design and programming would be highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLC preferred; however, open to considering experience of other market leading systems – training will be given
  • Able to understand electrical drawings
  • Experience working in an engineering environment
