As our client continues to scale, we are seeking a Finance Director to shape and lead the financial strategy across their expanding portfolio. This is a pivotal executive role, ideal for a visionary finance leader who thrives in complexity and enjoys building high-performing teams within a multifaceted business.

The Role

As Finance Director, you will be responsible for the financial strategy, planning, and governance of the Group and its subsidiaries. You will partner closely with the CEO and Board to deliver commercial insight, drive financial performance, and ensure the Group’s financial health supports long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

1) Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement group-wide financial strategies aligned with long-term business goals.

  • Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, risk management, and investment decisions.

2) Financial Management

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across all subsidiaries.

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and internal policies, including HMRC CIS management.

  • Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital optimisation.

  • Partner with operational teams to align financial plans with business performance.

3) Group Consolidation & Reporting

  • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and group-level performance analysis.

  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

4) Operational Oversight

  • Monitor and enhance financial performance across business units.

  • Implement robust financial controls, systems, and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

5) Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team across the Group.

  • Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across subsidiary finance functions.

6) M&A and Investment

  • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

  • Lead financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-deal performance tracking.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Minimum 10 years of senior finance leadership experience, ideally within a multi-entity or group structure.

  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, risk management, and business transformation.

  • Experience in a similar industry sector would be advantageous.
