Temporary for 1–2 months, with potential opportunity to become permanent.

Rise10 Recruitment is working with a leading multidisciplinary construction services and electrical contracting business to recruit a Procurement Assistant on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused procurement or administration professional to join a busy project environment, supporting day-to-day purchasing activities across materials, plant hire, subcontractors, and other project-related requirements.

Working closely with the Procurement Manager, Project Managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and accounts team, you will play a key role in ensuring purchase orders are processed accurately, suppliers are managed effectively, and procurement activities run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and process purchase orders for materials, plant hire, subcontractors, travel, and other project-related requirements using internal systems.
  • Ensure purchase orders include accurate job numbers, cost centres, delivery details, site contacts, and supporting documentation.
  • Obtain supplier quotations and place orders in line with project requirements and approval processes.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to understand purchasing requirements and ensure the correct materials, equipment, and services are ordered.
  • Support supplier and subcontractor onboarding, including credit applications, pre-qualification documentation, and compliance information.
  • Ensure subcontractor purchase orders are in place before works commence, clearly identifying labour, materials, and associated costs.
  • Monitor outstanding purchase orders, deliveries, and plant hire arrangements, including coordinating off-hire requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, order queries, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Review hire and subcontractor invoices, obtain relevant approvals, and support the accounts team with invoice processing.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, and invoice records to support reporting and audit requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, assisting with procurement-related queries.
  • Provide general administrative support to the procurement function as required.

About You

The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong attention to detail and enjoy working collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Previous experience within procurement, purchasing, or a similar administrative role is desirable.
  • Experience raising purchase orders and communicating with suppliers would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident handling numerical information and maintaining accurate records.
  • Professional communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competent using Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience using Simpro or similar procurement, finance, or project management systems would be beneficial.
  • Experience within construction, electrical contracting, engineering, or another project-based environment would be advantageous.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a growing procurement function, with the potential to secure a permanent position. Apply today to find out more!
