Job role: Resident Maintenance Site Engineer

Location: Rotherham
Salary: £45,000-£55,000pa

Are you a hands-on engineer with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering exceptional on-site support? Rise10 is partnering with a rapidly growing automation technology specialist to recruit a Resident Maintenance Site Engineer to join their team at a customer site in Rotherham.

About the role:

As the Resident Maintenance Site Engineer, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, preventative maintenance, and reactive repair for a range of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. You’ll be the primary point of contact for the customer, supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to a safe, efficient, and high-performing site.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a similar engineering role (automation, manufacturing, or distribution preferred).
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and automation knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Experience working on a customer site or in a customer-facing technical role.

Desirable:

  • Formal engineering qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, or apprenticeship).
  • Experience with conveyors, cranes, or shuttle systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and control systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills for scheduling and documentation.
  • Confidence using diagnostic tools and maintenance management software.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work core hours 8am–4pm (Monday – Friday).
  • Ability to remain on-call for urgent breakdowns.
  • Physically capable of working in varied environments.
  • Commitment to high safety and quality standards
